Google Penguin Update

I Told You So…

You know sometimes, “I told you so,” feels so good say. Not so that you can revel in someones misfortune, but more-so as an affirmation that you are doing the right thing and that this practice of virtue pays off in the end. Here is what I mean by that. I have been telling my clients all along that it is good, timely, relevant content that pays off in the end with higher results on the search engine results pages (SERPS). In fact, all of the black hat tactics or link building exercises do not compare to good, timely, relevant content. The reason for my firmly held belief is simple and logical really.

Google Logic…

Google is the #1 search engine in the world. They became the best search engine in the world because they provide the best results in any search query. They cater to the end user. I have told my clients all along that Google does not care so much about the business owner, or the ad agency. They are more concerned with the guy sitting at home in his pajamas typing keywords into the search box on Google. In order for Google to please the real customer (the end user) they must deliver quality content, otherwise, the end user will choose Yahoo or Bing or some other search engine to find what they are looking for. For most people, that is not an option because Google delivers.

The other Search Engines…

Many people that I talk to that use Yahoo and Bing do so solely because those engines were a part of their email package or were defaults on their browsers when they purchased their computers. For the most part, people are using Google because they generate the best results. So what that means to the advertiser is they must cater to the end-user too! This is done by building good,  timely, relevant content.

Google Penguine Update…

In light of the most recent Google Algorithm which targeted removal of spam (as do most updates) many of the SEO’s that employed black-hat techniques or that engaged in costly and time consuming link-building campaigns are having to re-think their strategies for their clients. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on where you stand on the issue, many of these SEO’s have gone out of business as a result. Those who practice building good timely content remain unaffected by the Google changes from the recent Google Penguin update and are instead now enjoying higher rankings in the SERP’s.

Good Ol’ Grandpa Wisdom…

My grandfather taught me a long time ago that there really are no short-cuts in life. If you take a short cut it often ends up costing you more time in the end. His wisdom applies to what I do today. Today Adwebvertising is in the business of designing quality websites and helping its clients gain prominent online exposure through the art and science of building good, timely, relevant, content.  Sometimes doing the hard thing is the best thing. Doing things the hard way forces you to grow and become more excellent. Being the best is a great goal, but being excellent is always better.  Sure it takes more time to build a site with good content, but it also causes you to interact more with your clients since you depend on them and their experience in their industries to help you develop rich content. Doing things the hard way produces some pretty exciting and unexpected results. So, let this be an encouragement to you if you have been doing things the hard way because it is the right thing to do. If you have been building good, quality, timely, relevant, content get ready for a new era of success for both your clients and your business!

Business Prediction…

Prediction: It is my personal prediction that companies that focus on content development and content writing will begin to grow leaps and bounds over the course of the next few years. In fact, we have already begun to build content around building content so that Adwebvertising will be amongst the most excellent authorities in the content development world!
