Python

With the Mac Terminal practice out of the way, it is time to dig back in to learning Python. If I have to take any other deviations along the way I will take you along with me. We started the Python Discovery Sessions by looking at the tutorials that are on the Python website. I found these to be unclear for my tastes and opted for another approach one that Jason Stanley recommended. That said we will be going through Learning Python the Hard Way. [note]I really enjoyed the terminal practice. These......

WOWZER! What a ride! I just finished the crash course on using the Mac Terminal. If you are a LINUX Guru then this should be a breeze for you. I never have much played around with the terminal but after my mind blowing ride through the course on MAC Terminals called, “Learn Code the Hard Way“, I am endowed with a new sense of confidence, a slightly higher IQ, and insomnia….but hey it brings me closer to the end-game. I could go through everything that I learned but it would take hours......

Okay so you are probably wondering where I have been…or maybe not… I have been learning to use the Mac Terminal the past day or so and I am proud to announce I have made it to chapter 15 doing all of the excercises. What? Did you think that I would be finished by now…Hardly! I spend half of my days doing ministry related work, then I run a business on top of that, and then my most important job is spending the time I get to spend with my family of......

For those just joining us, I am on a quest to learn the Python programming language. Perhaps it will lead me to discover ways to create and program those fancy little widgets in WordPress, or create a page that extrapolates data from one source and presents it the way I want it to…or better yet, the way my clients want it to. Either way…fasten your seatbelts and get ready…here we go! Well, I am picking up where I left off on my quest to discover Python (the programming language) after a fantastic......

Jason, my business partner, friend, and server guru challenged me to learn a programming language today. He said, and I quote, “if you’d learn to program we can stop these stupid conversations.” Not one to ever have stupid conversations I opted to take the learning route as I am always an avid learner. So I began to do some research. I had always considered myself a programmer of sorts having a great deal of practice with html, css, etc… until I discovered that those aren’t truly programming languages. I discovered I was......
